I could be interested in a wee trip to Torridon...camping in the woods
Will have to check with the family though, school hols and all that. I know we are going camping in the second May weekend (with the Burtons and Barries, I think), but nothing planned as yet for the first May holiday.
yeh, I am interested too. Ruth is due back in Glasgow the weekend before so I will need to check what she is up to - she will probably come too! I assume we are talking about a Fri-Mon, 3 night camp?
Yeah, I'd be up for that. Keen to get back into my tent. It might be summery weather by early May? (Although I recall climbing in hailstones on the Buachaille last May and that was the late May weekend!)

So cannae make it that weekend unless I high tail it for home on the Sunday evening. Anyone else wanting to go and requiring to be home for then Even go up on the Thursday evening to give a longer trip
It's years since I last camped in Torridon and I am so keen to come along.

If it comes to it and you`re stuck,I`ll ask Irene if she can swap her Friday shift with someone and go up on the Thursday and back on Sunday.Whether it`s possible or not I don`t know.

That would be great Alex I am not keen to drive back myself on the Sunday, so unless I can get someone to come back Sunday with me I won't be going

A word on the upcoming trip to Torridon and in particular camping in the woods. Apparentley the NTS are no longer keen on you camping there. Now before you all scream “What about the new access legislation?”, it is an objection to the roadside parking that they use to move you on. In other words, if asked to move, you can just move your car to an official car park but still camp in the woods.
Personally I think that the human waste problem is probably their concern and that they are just using the car thing as an excuse.
It was SMC Les in my work (that some of you have met) that told me of this. Last year he was asked to move down the glen to the camp site. He just moved his car.
Of course if nobody asks you to move then I suppose you can just park there the way we have always done?
I am still keen to go, but as I said I have to be back by the Sunday night. If there is there anyone who definitely wants to come back on the Sunday, either heading up on the Friday or better still the Thursday afternoon or evening, then let me know.

There used to be a campsite at the head of Loch Torridon near the hotel side of the loch. I think it closed due to inadequate facilities, but it may still be possible to wild camp there. Does anyone know anything about this? Could be an option.

Gavin, I stayed at the campsite years ago. The facilities were the public loos down the road Was unaware that it was now closed. Anyway, failing camping at "earwig forsest" there must be other spots in the glen suitable for sticking up a tent. You looking at going up Gavin
Sooo...who all are going up to Torridon, leaving when and for how long
