Guys n’ gals, here are the Meets as they stand so far.
Starting with the programme for Winter 2008/2009.
3-4 Oct 2008 Strawberry Cottage, Glen Affric
7-8 Nov 2008 Auchope Borders Bothy, close to the border and The Cheviot.
5-6 Dec 2008 Inbhirfhaolain, Glen Etive
16-17 Jan 2009 Muir Cottage, Inverey
6-7 Feb 2009 Milehouse, Kincraig
6-7 March 2009 Badrallach Bothy, near Dundonnell
Date to be confirmed CIC Hut, Ben Nevis
At the AGM it was agreed to try and arrange a few summer meets for 2008. At this time, after having gauged the desire within the club, I propose the following three meets but hope to follow up with maybe a couple more should there be enough interest.
23-25 May Glen Brittle, Skye (camping)
20/21 June Summer Solstice camp, location to be confirmed.
26th July Club BBQ, camping, location to be confirmed. This is the fair weekend, date can change if this unsuitable for a majority.
There have also been mutterings within the club of folk going to Fisherfield, Knoydart, Arran, Torridon and Harris this summer. If there are enough folk interested in any of these locations let me know and we can try and make them official club meets. I also wouldn’t mind at some point going up to Coruisk to do the Dubhs Ridge…anyone interested?
Alex, can you stick the above summer and winter dates on the Meets section of the web site.
Updated the website. Will add hyperlinks after when I have time.
Quite fancy camping in the pine trees at Torridon for the early May weekend
At some point in late spring / early summer I`m going to do something about they pesky Corbetts and Grahams in Fisherfield.Think I`ll go at short notice when there is a good forecast.I could be tempted to do Fionn Buttress if some young buck would carry in the bulk of the climbing gear though

Just received an email from Robin Clothier confirming that we have a booking for the CIC hut.
4 people for 2 nights, 27/28 Feb 2009.
The price has gone up to £10/p/n. Alex, can you stick the dates up on the Meets List?
Incidentally, Les in my work (who is an SMC member) thinks that the Raeburn and Naismith Huts have also gone up to £10/p/n, but that the Ling is to remain at £7/p/n.

F*** me.....a tenner a night ..!! That`s nearly a 50% rise I think we should all join the SMC
What's the craic with the Summer Solstice camping trip, then? Should I get my flowery kaftan and tambourine out the cupboard? Start brewing the dandelion wine? Are we camping ontop of a mountain, and will Gavin bring biltong? I really must look out some Pentangle records....
Scott and I were talking about this the other week .As usual it will be weather dependent .
We had a think and decided that you can`t beat the west coast for sunsets.Bearing that in mind we came up with the idea of Ben Hiant in Ardnamurchan as the views are superb and it`s only a 1000 ft of ascent from the high point of the road It also means that it`s not a gruelling ascent after the drive up north on the Friday night.Loads of good rock climbing around and some cracking Corbetts too.
I`ll have to check as i think it`s one of the weekends that I can`t make it though
Fancying a tase of the exotic, last year Bob and I headed to the hills above Largs for the summer solstice camp. The earywhigs were a menace, but the views of the bright lights of Largs were a real treat .
