Hey troops....... hope you are all well.

Just thought I'd check in to see how you all were.

I've been busy over here in Calgary and I'm now settled in the house that I bought back in March. I have done various hikes, plenty of bike runs and been to a few mountain bike parks. The climbing is on the back burner right now as my shoulder is still sore from my nad bike fall last year.

I have attached a copy of pics for you to look at.

Here is the elevation gain of a night run we did a while back with work from a view from the high point of the run in the next pic.

The next two are shots from a fine run called Powerface Creek which was a bit of a beast. Loads of elevation gain and about 26km in distance.

The following pics are from Sunday's hike up Mount Allan, which I think is around 2846m or thereby. Cracking weather at the start with 29C........ but as soon as the clag moved in it got fairly cold. Didn't make it to the top though as a large weather front was moving in which turned into a nasty storm.... killing 6 peaople in Calgary alone.

I am now fully settled in the house and have been carrying out various renovations so it's keeping me out of trouble.
One of my renovation prjects will be to put a bouldering wall in the basement :D
Will post more pics soon!

Cheers

Fraser

She seems to be having a good time. The only thing is that she is on the lead most of the time now as we had an incident where she chased a coyote............ I don't fancy her chasing a grizzly cub!

Luckily she came back after kicking it's butt though.

I'm planning a bike ride and hike for this weekend if ther weather stays clear so fingers crossed

If I have any decent pics then I will post them

Ahoy peeps!!

Hopefully this will work!!! Here's a short video made by my mate from our weekend at Fernie Bike Park in BC. Weather was great on saturday but not the best on sunday.

I am riding with the black helmet and very white shin pads.......... have a swatch if you want!

I had a rather sore crash on my first run as I went into a corner rather fast......... end up bending the handlebars so had funky steering for the whole weekend :? . Didn't stop me though! :D

Some of it looks very slow....... the stuff on the wood sections was very dodgy as it had just rained so it was all wet and the tyres were super muddy so it required cautious riding. In addition some of the stuff was rather high off the ground....... I think the highest was about 20ft. Only mugins was stupid enough to try it! :?

The mountain biking season ends at the end of the month so I will try and get out a bit more on the downhill bike before it is back to x country riding and hiking before the snow comes. :D

This weekend is boozing friday night with a mate, mountain biking at Lake Minnewanka on saturday and a hike on sunday somewhere in Kananaskis Country.

I got stopped last night on the way back from a mountain bike ride in K Country by a cops road block. He was checking for poachers....... anyway, he asked me for my license and registration. Long story short he was rather pissed as I didn't have my license on me and the registration was for the wrong address!! So I have been given a $172 fine.

I will post more pics later if there is anything decent in my camera from last nights 22km run.

Hey Fraser,

very very impressed with your biking video. Looks amazing.
Gordon has taken me out mountain biking on Thursday in the Carron Valley. That was my first time ever of proper mountain biking, I think. I have so far always been too scared by the idea of going down any slope on 2 wheels at any speed...but it was amazing!...very exhilarating and by the end of the evening I had lost a lot of fear and gained lots of confidence and probably felt more speed=induced adrenaline rush then in years...it felt very much like (fast) downhill skiing.

Huh, it was a borrowed mountain bike though and I want my OWN now!!! I think I might not invest in your sort of body armour just now though 8) and will take it a tiny bit easier 8) 8)

Good luck with the grizzli cubs and a fun autumn and winter!
