Away from the hut at 8.30am and headed north to Foinaven via a stop for sweeties and stuff at Scourie.Parked near Gualin House and set off at 10am.We decided to ignore all the guide books and cross the dreaded bog directly to the foot of Ceann Garbh and this proved to be no problem at all.We jinked around several wee lochans and through boulder fields trying to keep to a faint ridge and eventually arrived at the foot of the ridge dryshod :D

A steep initial climb up and soon we were on a wide sweeping ridge giving direct access to the summit. The clouds were coming and going but it was mainly clear.........

Every so often we would stop to admire the views and have a fag :D

The ridge swept up at a nice easy angle leading up to a snowfield about 500ft below the summit. There was a slight covering of cloud from here on in but the strong sun shone through giving some nice atmospheric "winter" conditions....

Martine at the summit.....

We descended via a long circuitous route down Coire Duail and back along Strath Dionard stopping at a fishermans bothy to sit out a small squall.4 hours from the summit back to the car but it was worth it to see some of the cliffs hidden up this glen.
A good day out and good company too :D

After our steep descent from summit, it levelled out a bit and I could take my hands off my ice axe long enough to snap a pic. Great day out!

Never seen a soul all day ...the same on Cul Beag the following day as well :D

There were a few easyish/mid-grade gullies hidden away in Coire Duail but not having a guide book for that area don`t know if they have had ascents.Loads of stuff in the Dave McLeod style to go at in there as well
