Ahoy!

Before I head off to the other side of the pond I fancy getting out on my bike and doing some fine trips. I'm open for ideas from anyone?

Graham, I plan to take the stabiliser off Rhona's bike soon, so you're welcome to them

I'd like to tag along on a wee mtn bike ride, but knowing Fraser it would be a hard ride and me bike still needs new brakes.

I'm fed up having to do controlled crashes in order to stop

Ahoy again!

Excellent...... this interweb banter connection works by golly gosh!

Glentrool big day out........ chews more than a granny trying to eat squid! It's 60 odd km and is mostly on public roads and boring forestry roads. In terms of stuff down near my house (Newton Stewart) your best going to Kirroughtree........ 33km and over 300ft of ascent. Yes you will be broken but you will have a very big smile on your face!

Some ideas I've had is doing the munro beside beinn a glo (spelling) Myself adam and scot looked over to it when we were up there last year. Or doing the the Larhi ghru (spelling again) if that is ridable that is?

Put it this way, as long as I'm out on my bike with some chums and in mud I am happy!

What about the idea that Alex has been floating for some time...bike jaunt up the Corbett, Stob an Aonaich Mhoir, beside Loch Ericht where you can cylce to within spitting distance from the top and then have great pleasure in racing the 9miles downhill all the way back.

And on a tarmac surface too :) Or does that make it too easy for you Fraser :?:

Downhill section will be interesting on my bike with it's almost non existant brakes

Ah ha so many ideas and so much to choose from . Sounds like all we need now is a date! Any ideas. There's the Easter weekend but i have to work Friday and am running a half on the Sunday. Could suggest Monday but my poor spindly legs might not be too productive by that point. Any ideas?

I have acquired a shiny new guide book and I'm proposing to do a route around arrochar on saturday with Judith Shand. It will be a dawn raid............... anyone interested? (got to be back down the raod early! Got the choice of 2 routes......... 18km or 38km. Either way you'll be knackered!!

All those in favour say aye?
