Yeah, when I started out it was Italian Army surplus trousers, a pilot jacket, wool jumpers, a cagoule that I also wore on my paper round and DM's on my feet, although these got replaced rather quickly with a pair of second hand scabby hiking boots after the DM's blistered my feet

First thing I bought with this dosh was my first car, second thing was a pair of crampons. I was almost laughed out of Nevisport when I asked them for crampons which would fit those scabby boots

Ended up leaving the shop with not only a nice new pair of crampons, but also a pair of Koflach Viva Soft plastic boots...what an upgrade
