Calling all the club’s winter hard men   ...and lassies :!:

The CIC Hut booking is coming up. We have 4 places booked for the nights of Fed 27 & 28. So who wants to put their name forward to rub shoulders with those SMC types in their newly refurbished hut :?:

So far Ickers and Craig have expressed interest. If I decide that I have the time I might put my name forward.

Graham meets Robin Clothier (CIC Hut custodian) occasionally through work and has been informed that the following weekends still have free spaces available.

20-21 March for 2
27-28 March for 4
10-11 April for 6

If anyone is wanting to book any of these dates then they can speak with me initially and I’ll tell you how to go about contacting Robin…there is a strict set of rules regarding how to book spaces at the hut.

These dates at the CIC hut are like gold dust , so you will need to snap up quickly.

If anyone else is interested in going to the CIC it would be better if they went on the club's officially booked dates rather than the additional free dates that Graham was told about by Robin Clothier...the reason being that we have already paid up front at £10p/p/n for 4 folk.

Nobody else wanting to put their name down for the CIC Hut, 27-28 Feb :?: :?:

Craig, I now have the key, so if you come down the pub this Thurs or next I'll pass it on to you.

Craig and Ickers are taking two of the places we have booked this weekend.

However, in order that the club doesn’t get hit for £40, I have been trying hard to fill the two remaining places.

Brian and Martina haven’t got back to me, neither has “teacher” Graham and Steve Wells is already booked up this weekend.

Anyone out there fancy going up (now open to non-climbers who want to go for a hillwalk) or know of anyone out with the club who may be interested? Gordon…you could maybe ask Matt if any of the Lomonds would be interested?

Graeme Watson just called me...looks like he is going to take the 2 places at the CIC this weekend :) He just needs to make a few calls to recruit a climbing partner, but is pretty confident that that shouldn't be a problem.

Looks like the boys that are away up to the CIC tonight are not going to be experiencing a shiny extended, refurbished hut, but if a current thread on UKClimbing is correct, it is still an on-going building site up there :(

Have a look at these pics...

http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=109544
http://www.ukclimbing.com/images/dbpage.html?id=109545

And one guy said that he found builders' rubbish all the way down the Alt Muillin :( And a turd 5m from the door :x

Seems to me that the builders should be responsible for cleaning up after themselves and keeping their site compound to minimal size. Obviously the SMC also have a responsibilty here too.

As for the phantom crapper, that's just some thoughtless and selfish sod who should be kicked all the way down the hill. Hopefully when the toilet in the hut becomes functional this summer it will help prevent this. Well at least the folk staying at the hut will have the use of a loo.
