Last weekend Silke and I re-formed the Orion MC Adventure race team - this time in the Pentland hills.
The 8 hour race comprised of about 5 hours mountain biking, 1 hour canoe and 2 hours running. We managed to 'bag' most of the summits in the pentland hills, a few interesting encounters with groups of army cadets and lots of very steep uphill cycles. Although we were no where near winning it, we did not disgrace ourselves. We ended up in the top half of the team events standings, got 780 points out of a total of 1000 and only missed 6 out of 35 checkpoints

Silke wasn't too happy about the condition of her brand new trainers at the end of the race.....

But you will all be glad to know that, during her time in Scotland, Silke has learned to eat a bit better! Look at the size of this lunch - compared to the dehydrated food Silke ate when we first met her....
