We had a good long weekend camping up at Glenmore with the Burtons. The Barries also came up for one night.

The Sunday afternoon was a little damp so John and I took Morven and Rhona to the local climbing wall in Aviemore, Extreme Dream.

The reason for this post is to let anyone know who is ever considering going along to this centre, that it’s fine if you were only going as a visitor, but don’t be expecting the quantity or height of the routes at somewhere like Ibrox. I get the feeling that a large portion of their customers are groups…instruction, corporate, stag parties, etc and they also build walls for others throughout the UK so it’s not the only side to business.

There is however a few really spectacular routes which climb up to and along the underside of the flat roof :o Two guys, a good few years older than me, were leading one of these routes making it look really easy peasy

Here’s Morven and Rhona at the top of a couple routes a whole lot easier than the ones mentioned above :D

The weather on the Friday (the day we travelled up) and the Saturday was outstanding :)

Saturday the Burtons went mountain biking while we went a walk round the Utah Lochans at the head of Glen Feshie...must be one of the most beautiful walks in the area, a real hidden jewel :)

On Sunday morning we all went for a walk round the Craigellachie National Nature Reserve, but the scotch mist that came in meant no views, so that's when we decided to go to Extreme Dream.
