Driving through Glencoe on Saturday we stopped and had a look in the Squirrel's Drey. Pretty much as we left it. The door was 1/2 open and there was a candle on the rock face sos looks like it is used. Roof looking a bit precarious for my liking. Don't fancy sleeping under it once its loaded up with snow in winter! I'll post some photos later.

Even if we had the inclination, doing any further work would be a nightmare as the wee layby below it is now blocked off with bollards :( Dragging building materials from further up/down the road would be a nightmare

Remember how hard it was carting rubbish down the hill and new stuff back up even when the layby was open...I'm sweating and out of breath just thinking about it, phew :!:

The front door was open when we arrived:

Inside seemed more cluttered than when we left:

Good grief the old place is in one heck of a mess. It's been years since I last stayed but it used to have a wooden floor and lining. Sleeping platform under the roof, gas lights and heater. Quite snug. It's just a doss now!

Happily the memorial plaque to Jim Ward is still there, so far.

Hopefully someone will take it on.

Craig Drey has been cast in silicone recently to feature in the next Harry Potter film. :)
