Unfortunately only a handfull of folk made it up to Inver croft this weekend (Scott, Graham, Andy, Dom, Jules - from Lomond MC - and myself), but it was a cracker!

After some drunken, heated debates around the fire the night before we woke up to a beautiful frosty morning in Glen Carron...

Dom and Scott decided to go set off and do their own thing - Scott a spot of Corbett bagging and Dom a crazy 32km fell run??? - I am sure they will post their own stories later. Here is a photo of the crazy student before his run...

The rest of headed round to Loch Maree to tackle Slioch. It was a fantastic day on the hills. Don't think words are required, here are some photos to tell the story....

After such a stunning day on Saturday we woke up this morning to some very contrasting wet, windy weather. This, however, didn't stop us. Andy, Jules and I headed up Moruisg and Sgurr nan Crannaichean. Andy only managed half way up before he decided to snuggle into the soaken wet heather for a snooze (??) whilst Jules and I carried on. Apart from a couple of showers, the weather greatly improved and we even got some views from the summit of Sgurr nan Crannaichean.

...On our descent it cleared up considerably

I am gutted that I couldn't be there, it looks fabulous. That picture of the mist at the hut is gorgeous, it gave me a real pang to get away up nortth again. Thanks for posting.

Like Jules, I'm really disappointed to have missed this aswell now. The pictures look great. Looking forward to the next hut meet I can make it to, and can also mention them to other walking friends outwith the club if required to get bums on seats!

Ah, brilliant pics Gordy (apart from the dodgy untrimmed beareded one). I need to get a new camera!

Now your face is almost as hairy as your legs, Dom! No apologies for cheeky post - I spend 24/7 with a baby, I am fully entitled to be cheeky in order to provoke a response. Nice hills, ah maybe next year... Luisa 3 months old, halfway to weaning. All still alive, sense of humour slowly returning.

Ah, good to hear from you Martine! Glad to hear you are still alive and are able to contemplate thoughts of a Glorious Return :D

You should try out the the old uns at Bluesky Scotland Martine. As soon as Morven could hold her head up we did loads with Bob. He knows all the high spots in the Central Belt.

I’ve been going through some old photos and found this one taken on the only time I’ve had decent weather on Slioch. It’s about half way up the hill, looking over Loch Maree.

And following on from John’s post in reply to Martine…I had Rhona up nearly 2 dozen munros and corbett’s on me back between the ages of 6months to 3years. But then again I’m a 6ft 3 strapping big lad while Martine you’re…well, not so big :D
