This came in from Ickers today....

Hi folks

Please cancel your holidays, book the babysitter and save Saturday 21st November in your diaries for the Orion Club Dinner at the Ariundle Centre on the Ardnamurchan peninsula: www.ariundle.co.uk

A 3 course meal & coffee will be served at a cost of £20/head - in a room featuring 4 walls and a roof! Beds in the bunkhouse are at £12 per night. We have exclusive use of the bunkhouse on the Saturday so tune up the vocal chords...

Accommodation consists of 2 x 8 bed dorms, 2 x 4 bed rooms and 1x2 bed room (26 beds). There are additional 'z beds' that can be put into the dorms and there's also a static caravan if needs be.

I will need to collect in a full payment by Saturday 23rd October - more details on that to follow, but in the meantime please send me an email reply indicating your attendance (and partner/ guest/ pets) and accommodation preference by Friday 18th September.

Many thanks to those of you that have managed to get back to me to make quite a good response so far. For those who haven't yet responded and would like to come, I'd greatly appreciate if you could do so by Monday week (Sept 21st).

I will circulate further details including payment details on the 21st - Gordy will be collecting hard cash and cheques on Thursday nights.

Many thanks for the update - great work on the money collection front. I didn't get your text about Brian & Martina, but from the info you sent and from the responses I've had, this is where I think we're at: potentially 22 for the club dinner (including Jules & Abs - see below and Brian &
Martina) of which 18 would be needing beds on the Saturday (Gav & Edi + Fiona & David using their own vans). My accommodation list reads as
follows:

John B & Gail

Myself & Sian

Yourself & Ruth

Scott & Julia

Julian & Abs (& child) - as yet unconfirmed / info via Claudia but would have one of the 4-bedded rooms

John & Claudia - would have one of the 4-bedded small rooms

Brian & Martina - are they confirmed?

Graham originally replied that he & Patrizia wouldn't be coming (but you are of course more than welcome to join Graham). As it stands the accommodation is at £12/head but that is without the 2-bedded room. Understandably as we aren't filling the bunkhouse, the centre want hang onto this for other guests. From talking to Kate the manager, if they don't fill it, then they may well give it to us anyway or alternatively an extra charge could be levied on it if a couple want to reserve it.

Clear as mud?!

I will send a payment email around next week (I intended to do this week but held off to see if we'd get any more). It's a shame that there will be a lot of folk unable to make it for one reason or another and that I'm not up there to personally harrass and bully folk! We still have a decent crowd - provided that we don't have drop-outs. The slideshow is a fabulous idea.

Club dinner is this weekend!!! What's everyone's plans? I think Ruth and I will be leaving the gorbals at about 5.45pm tomorrow evening. We are thinking about taking our bikes and going for a cycle on Saturday (anyone want to join us?). We should have space in the car for 1, maybe 2 more people but would like to make the 20.45 ferry so won't be able to faff around too much picking folk up. If you want a lift it would be great if you could meet us at our flat or at an easy pick up point on the way?

I might make it down the pub tonight, but I doubt it.

Unfortunately, Julia and I are no longer going to the club dinner…instead I will be decorating for my mum :(
