Anyone want to get out on Sunday for a quick jaunt out? I have to be over at the Barrie’s to see baby Alexander for 4pm, so it’ll have to be somewhere local and not a long day.

Possibly somewhere like the Cobbler, Donich, Ime or the Luss hills?

Could be tempted ... how about Duncrine, followed by tea and scones?

Well I was thinking about something a little more taxing than Duncryne  I was up Duncryne not long ago with the kids and even Ewan walked the whole way up, and he was was under two and a half tears old at the time.

And that is the limit of your ambition...to emulate a two and a half year old :D

And tea and scones...what happened to the old club tradition of a pint and a packet of crisps :?

I'll speak to you and Dom at the pub tonight about Sunday :?:

Could be tempted by the 2 Grahams above Glen Fruin if there are views to be had.
Will depend on what time you are leaving as I`m not overly keen on being rushed round them for some daft baby meet up :D
Failing that the Cap`n and myself will be out as usual....

We're heading for the Arrochar area. We thought we would make our mind up what to do on the way up. Forecast looks cold with snow showers :)

I need to know where I`m going in advance. Hate getting up early and travelling up north only to find that everyone wants to go up the Cobbler or something like that

I`ll see wot the Cap`n fancies....

Well I'm up for doing something different. The only walk I've done in the Arrochar area was a superb day out in May going up the Cobbler and the two Munros next door (Beinns Narnain and Ime).

Hey, what's wrong with the Cobbler :?: I've been up it dozens of times, but it's still one my fav hills.

Ah but wait, is it the steep railway path that bothers an old man like you  I remember Jon, Graham and I carrying all the climbing gear up one day, and you still panting like a rabid dog on the way up, even though you had a teensy weensy pack on your back :D

I know you`ve been up it dozens of times....that`s why it`s eroded to buggery

I NEVER carry climbing gear. That`s for other people to do for me.I save myself for the actual climbing... :D

Wot about Cnoc Coinnich,761 metres, from Lochgoilhead. It has great views down the Clyde Estuary to Ailsa Craig,it meets the time factor `cos it ain`t far away and it`s a reasonably big hill.Could even do it from Ardgartan to save some time.

Beinn Bhreac,681 metres, above loch Lomond at the entrance to Glen Douglas at the Inverbeg Hotel.Possibility of adding on Tullich Hill,632 metres, if time permits.Great views from Beinn Bhreac up and down L.Lomond.

Binnein an Fhidhleir,811 metres.Corbett I haven`t done plus a trig point on it 8)

Cruach Tairbeart,415 metres, above the Arrochar to Tarbert road which is meant to be a great viewpoint.Marilyn and trig point.

Stob an Eas,732 metres, above Hell`s Glen.Graham and Marilyn and trig point.

Needless to say this is an entirely selfish list of hills that I haven`t done

Could also be swayed over to the Ochils for a few more Donalds to my list...
