Roll up, roll up, the moment you have been waiting for…the first winter meet of the season :)

So come on all you lads ands lassies, be first in there to ensure your bed space at one of the best located huts. Stick your name up here if you want to go.

We have 12 places booked at £6/p/n, used or unused.

Most of you have been there before, but for those that haven’t here are the details:

Hut name: INVER CROFT
Club: Jacobites MC
Situation: Near Achnasheen
Map: 25 Glen Carron
Grid Ref: 150559
Access: Via footbridge and walkway from car park at 147562
Accommodation: 12 Maximum; sleeping mats required
Facilities: Cooking; lighting and some heating by gas, main heating by open fire (bring own fuel);
all kitchen utensils provided; h&c running water; drying room; WC

more detail on the hut here http://www.jacobitesmc.co.uk/home.htm

Those who have already put their names forward in the pub last night…

Andy
Gordon
Dom and myself may travel up for one night due to both of us having previous commitments on the Sunday.
Graham, did you say that you may come up for one night also?

With 12 places booked and only having 8 folk for the Fri night and 5 for Saturday we stand to take quite a hit at this the first of the winter meets.

I see little prospect of further interest and also think that, due to a number of regular members having left the club recently, it is likely that this may be a reoccuring theme with the meets this winter.

So in order to try and protect our finances I intend to offer any unused places to the Lomond MC. I was talking to matt from the Lomond's last night and believe it or not their meets sec has failed to book any winter meets for them. This could work to our advantage.

I'll leave it until early next week to see if we have any more interest from our club before offering the remaining places to the them.

Anyone got any objections to this?

Nope, sounds like a wise move. I assume the Lomond fit in with the Orion philosophy of early to bed, early to rise?

Scott,

Spoke to Gail this morning about Invercroft and she seems keener to go so we are a possibility (with Morven & Dug). We'll give you a definite by end of Monday. Have you clarified the dog policy for Gavin & Eddie? Chalky's keen to meet Millie. Intentions I suspect are entirely dishonourable.

I can leave straight from work at 5pm. Can take my car if it helps. Definitely only one night for me.

Excellent Graham, suits me and as far as I know Dom is still going for one night also.

Eventually managed to make contact with the hut custodian...no dogs allowed :(

Looks like we are struggling for numbers? Correct me if I am wrong, but so far we only have;
6 for Friday night (Scott, Graham, Dom, Andy, Julian and myself) and
3 for Saturday night (Andy Julian and myself)

I have asked Matt to post it on the Lomond web page so hopefully we might get a few more from them. I have also sent the same email to a friend of mine at the Cairnban club so, if we are lucky, we might get a few from there too?

If necessary, I can take my car and leave anytime after noon on Friday. I would, however, like to maximise numbers in cars to minimise petrol cost both ways.

If anyone is interested in bagging I haven't done the following hills in this area - Maoile Lunnadaidh, Moruisg, Sgurr nan Ceannaichean and none of the munros to the north of the road.

Looks as though an anti dog stance means we can't come up as without a dog sitter. So count us out. Shame, had my eye on An Teallach as weather is looking good.

What you thinking of doing instead Gavin?
