I would have been interested - given that Elphin is on our doorstep - however, I will be playing hostess to some friends from Germany that week ... probably would have been too confusing with the Martine / Martina thing for you guys anyway - given that some people seem to find that difficult ... Martine, have you been getting strange messages for ME recently? I got one for YOU the other day!

Graham, unfortunately I am going to have to pull out of the Naismith meet

Julia is away that weekend and it looks like I am to be lumbered with looking after the bairns  When the clash was realised it could have been the scene of domestic violence but being the nice guy I am I thought that I would give up my weekend to let Julia get away. Or you could say that it was more than my life was worth to insist that she cancel her weekend :)

Got to say, I am really disappointed as it was the meet I was most looking forward to :x …all others almost being in what I would categorise within distance of a day out from Glasgow.

A suggestion from one of my work colleagues (an SMC member) was to take the kids on the meet and get one of the female members of the club to look after them while I go out on the hill  A very SMC solution indeed :D

Aye, you'd be chancing your arm if you followed SMC advice, Scott!

Martina, it's a shame I won't get to meet you just yet. If it makes life easier for us both, I can go by my alter ego of Tosca. Although I also answer to Maxine, Marlene, 'Haw Missus', or anything vaguely close to my name!

Update.

Gordon,Martine and I want to go on Friday afternoon.

Jules wants to go but probably not till after work and he doesn`t want to drive.

Bob said he was interested but hasn`t got back to me.

John B said he might go with Gail and Morven.

I`ll drive but I don`t want to leave later than 3 in the afternoon and can take 2 others. If I`m driving I`m going to Foinaven on Saturday but can drop Munro baggers off for Ben More Assynt/Conival on the way up and pick them up at the pub on the way back. Will also be Corbett bagging on the Sunday

Anybody got anything else to add :?:

I may well need a lift up to Naismith, Spirito di Sporco is still overheating, we should have a car maintenance section on this forum so I can bore everyone with stories of replaced timing belts, pumps, thermostats, cylinder gasket heads...

Genuine mistake Ms.Corax....I was excited about my starring cookery role on BBC2 next year and pressed the wrong button :?

Deep inside I`m sure you know that my heart beats only for you Image ImageImage

Anyway,if the call was meant for you it would be about septic tanks

Hope to get up to see you two in the better weather when young Mr.Rees has recovered

If everything pans out as intended ETA would be about 8pm. Maybe 8.30pm if the mobile chip shop is open in Ullapool.Best haggis supper I`ve ever tasted :D

You up for Foinaven :?: I intend making a dash across the (hopefully frozen) bog from about halfway between Rhiconich and Gualin House

So, does that mean the most up to date list is....

Martine, Alex, Alastair and myself definates. Jules, Bob, John B, Gail and Morven maybe's?

If all goes to plan, that means we have filled the 8 spaces!!! If not, and we need to fill a space, my brother might be interested in coming up too.

Yes I will almost certainly go. Adam taking about going too and sharing transport. I don't mind taking car but can't stand the idea of driving all the way so I have offered to split driving with Adam and open to other volunteers with fully comp insurance.

Haw, missus, it's not maintenance advice you need, perhaps the phone no of a scrappy...

I think you`ll know this but just in case.......a normal fully comp policy usually only covers you for 3rd party whilst driving cars that belong to someone else.Quite a few of the insurers have changed their terms in recent years to even disallow this under certain circumstances. I think I`m covered for any car fully comp but my policy is a business one.I`ll check later....

Anyway..is anyone else heading up fully comp apart from Jules and meself :?:
