Ha, after reading of your escapades up north the other week it is clear that you are well on your way to recovery
Think you are play acting now as you have become use to the genorosity that sympathy brings out from folk For example, "You poor soul Gavin...here, have another glass of wine, it'll perk you up no end"
Not sure if I can make it this weekend. Mrs B was taken into hospital today with urinary tract infection. Last time this happened she was in for 10 days so will need to see how things go. I was going to give Andy and new guy Stephen a lift, is their anyone else with room for them in their car?
Does that mean it will be the usual last-minute Thursday pub car-trading, then?
I have both Friday and Monday off, so I am happy to take my car up if needs be, either Friday afternoon or Friday evening, can give folks a lift (Scott if you and Gordon wanted to head up earlier). It'd be better to know beforehand though as I do need to attend to some car maintenance issues. Also be aware that it will take about 5 hours for the Punto to reach Torridon, it doesn't go fast anymore.

Well as far as I can make out it looks like this.
Folk who seem to be still up for this weekend's trip to Torridon...
Me
Gordon
Martine
Andy
Possibles
Fester (who has hurt his back and is waiting to see how it is before finally commiting)
Julian (who still has to decide)
Gavin (who said he would give it some consideration)
New guy Stephen (think he was a maybe. Has anyone heard from him?)
I would possibly be happiest to head off Fri afternoon, as it means that I can run about last minute in the morning sorting out gear and stocking up with food and drink. However, as I am at the mercy of someone giving me a lift I can go anytime, and if push came to shove I'll go Fri night and can even probably manage Thurs night.
I spoke to Stephen on Friday night. He said he was still keen for the Torridon camping trip. Said he would be down the pub on Thursday.
I will email him tonight.
Gordon and I spoke last night and are thinking of leaving Friday lunchtime (picking up Scott en route), going in Gordon's new car.
Jen who was in the pub last week is interested (maybe) in coming to Torridon, but she may need a lift. I've advised her that coming to the pub tomorrow is probably the best way to arrange this, as others may be in a better position to commit by then.
Jules is almost definite.
I`m highly probable. Will need someone to erect my tent on the Friday night and someone to make my coffee in the mornings though. Will also require my driver to stop every so often to prevent my back siezing up. Maybe I can qualify for some sort of government grant for old folks ....
On a brighter note I`m off to pick my van up this afternoon.Just needs some more work for the MOT which is being done on Sunday hopefully.Means I can look forward to a boat trip into Ben Aden along with a cargo of fare paying Corbett baggers

Alex, d'ya want someone to tuck you in and read you a wee story to get you to sleep as well
Didn't think there would be any snow. Axes and crampons at home, no climbing gear (think it'll be damp) makes for lightweight hill bagging, yippee And nice, comfortable bendy boots, fab To quote the Undertones "Here Comes the Summer"
Anyone, heard if Andy or new guy Stephen are still interested
Oh, and should we have an alternative plan in the event that the forecast gets even worse To be quite frank I cannae be arsed with going all the way to Torridon to camp if the weather is to be really grim At the moment further east looks better or am I getting ahead of myself and being overly pessimistic Maybe I should adopte a Jon "It'll be alright!" Knott approach
Well we have a maximum of say 7 folk heading up and two cars. So what's the problem
You,Gordon and Martine.
Jules & Andy.
Maybes....Abigail,Jen,Stephen and me.
Will see what we can organise tonight
My van is still covered under it`s previous MOT but it would cost me £40 because I`d miss the free restest if I take it Plus it`s sorned right now so I`d have to tax and insure it tomorrow.

Getting away from the subject of who's going and how are they getting there, does anyone know if Fuselage Gully on Beinn Eighe (Grade I or II in winter) is a route which will “go” without any snow or ice, or is it just a skanky gully in these conditions
If it does go what grade is it, would I need to take gear, or is it just a scramble I rather fancy climbing it to see the wreckage of the Lancaster, especially the jammed propeller
Mind you I suppose there could still be some snow in the gully as it faces north, although I would imagine it would be a tad wet and horrible, and not very enjoyable climbing
