Andy and I had enough of snow ploughing on Saturday so decided to have a day bagging smaller stuff.
Drove round to Loch an Eilean where we were stopped from entering the car park by Harvey the canine parking attendant.He runs out and stands in front of every car and stops them until they hand over the dosh.

Had intended going straight up from the carpark to the Marilyn Ord Ban but one look at the slope convinced us to head down the loch a bit and go up the ridge.Even there the snow was knee/thigh deep.Up over the deer fence and on up the slopes....
Seemed to take ages but eventually the the summit appeared sporting a nice Vanessa trig pillar
We hung around for ages .Great 360 degree views over the Monadhliath,the Gorms and up and down the Spey valley and into the Lairig Ghru.....
Much easier in descent .........
Drove down the A9 to the Crubenmore turn off and along the old A9 towards Dalwhinnie There was a big sign up saying that there was no grit or salt on the road but it wasn`t too bad so we gave a good bagging to the Dalwhinnie Fundamental Benchmark.It was buried under deep snow but the GPS made short work of finding it.
