Alex, Andy and myself attempted a couple of corbets behind Kingussie on Saturday (not sure what they were called?). After setting off from the hut early, with great intentions, the very deep snow quickly started to slow us down. I think it took us 2 1/2 hours to reach 450m before we decided to give up. The winds were reasonably strong and, with low cloud cover, it just didn't seem worth the hassle.

Some photos of our attempt:

I suspected before we left the hut that we would never get to the top ....well,not in daylight hours anyway

Here`s a youtube clip of Andy near the bottom of the hill on the way down that will give you an idea of what it was like.
You might have to turn on html in your profile if you can`t see the embeded video...not sure....

Nevertheless it was a nice day and we made full use of it by going for a drive down to the RSPB sanctuary at Insh marshes and stopping along the way to take photies of horses and cows and the like.Walked round for the sunset over the end of Loch Insh later as well. Will post some piccies later....
