Count me in! Does it have to be to the Glen Brittle campsite? Since we were there last year would it not be better to vary it a little and go to the Sligachan campsite this year? Are the midges not slightly less worse at the Sligachan? And you can hide in the pub if they are really bad?
Trying to weigh up the best option for the Burton Clan this weekend. Considering Skye, if the venue was Sligachan, cause of Gordon's point and it is more child friendly. Also considering Dornie as it has options to go boating as well as the hills and is not so far. So we are a maybe depending on the final dictat from the Boss.

It's unlikely that I'll be coming, as since the kids were born I traditionally go family camping on the 2nd May holiday and they are too young for the Cuillin. Having said that I suppose I could maybe drag them up the Storr or the Quirang. Also if the weather is wall to wall rain, a common enough occurence in Skye, there isn't much kid friendly stuff on the island.
But if the forecast is mega good I just might consider the 6 hour drive (yes, it will take at least that long with a 3 & 6yr old fighting in the back of the car over which video to watch).
My preference is Glen Brittle...better atmosphere, closer to Coire Lagan, less touristy types, and a beach which is great for beach fires at night Oh, and my experience is that the midgies are as bad at the Slig as at Glen Brittle...just depends on which way the wind is blowing. But then I probably won't be coming, so hey, maybe my opinion shouldn't count
I am as misguided as Dom and thinking bright brilliant clear skies....in which case there is a 100% likelyhood that I want to come.
I am with Scott on the campsite selection...midges are not better at the Sliggachan...and a nice beach next to the campground in Glen Brittle sounds more tempting. However as I might not go in bad weather my vote should count as little as Scott's.

Craig has just asked me if I want to do the ridge traverse that weekend with himself and Silke...looks like it's going to be the second year in a row that I'm going to miss out on making an attempt on the ridge
Obviously Silke's successful traverse last year with Neil was too easy if she is wanting to do it again Maybe she should go for the 'Super Traverse' which also includes the Red Cuillin, Clach Glas and Blaven
Well, Craig is really keen and if he doesn't find someone else willing or available on the weekend, I said I would be very happy to do it again. It doesn't mean that I HAVE to do it again, as there is plenty of other stuff, that I also would like to do...I don't really care. I just want sunshine!!!! But no, definetely no Super-traverse.
